What this site knows about you

Updated 7 October 2026

In short

This site has no visitor accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies. It does not ask for your name or email and it does not sell or share anything about you.

Videos

The video player is not loaded until you press play. It then comes from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and from that point YouTube's own privacy policy applies to what you watch. Thumbnails are loaded from YouTube's image server, which, like any web server, sees your IP address.

Visit counts

The site counts page views and measures how fast pages load with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not identify you; it reports totals such as the page, the country and the kind of device.

Your theme

If you switch between the light and dark page, that choice is kept in your own browser and never sent to us.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like every web host, it keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser) to keep the site running and secure.

If you write to us

If you email the show, your message is used only to reply to you or to consider the scientist you suggest. It is not added to a mailing list.

Other sites

Links to YouTube, Spotify, Instagram and the other places the show is published take you to services with their own privacy policies.
